Newcomer / Intro How to find on the map where I could mine eg. cobalt?

How to find on the map where I could mine eg. cobalt? Or maybe I have go to all asteroid belts one by one, try to mine it, and maybe there will be cobalt?

If you are asking for a mission, don't mine it at all. You can buy cobalt, and that will do to complete the mission.

Cobolt is found in Rocky Rings, Pristine are best. If a body has multiple rings they are listed from closest to furthest, and it is normally pretty easy to tell where each starts and ends by eye.

To find a body with use eddb and use the bodies search feature

Sorry, I have no idea about using asteroid belts, they are not really used for mining by many people. They have their uses if you are a mining expert, but its pretty niche

If you really want to stick with in game tools, go to Extraction systems, check out the rings using a detailed surface scanner if the data is not already visible

Minable things break down into roughly three groups ... with a couple of exceptions:
- common ores (the Minerals section of the market that can be bought at Extraction systems)
- metals (the Metals section of the market)
- non-metals and rare ores (the mining-only section of Minerals, plus a few from other sections like Chemicals)

In general:
- ores can be found in Rocky and Metal-Rich
- metals can be found in Metallic and Metal-Rich
- non-metals and rare ores can be found in Icy
There are a couple of exceptions to the rule (e.g. Painite is a Mineral but only appears in Metallic rings), but you'll figure those out as you go along.

Any ring will have all the available materials for that type of ring. Belt clusters may have some missing, just because they have such a small number of rocks - generally stick to rings.

You can find the appropriate rings with a detailed surface scanner or by scanning the nav beacon. You'll get much better results in a Pristine reserves system - the fringes of the bubble are best for these.

Many thanks for all the answers.

I want to use as less as possible external tool as edtools.ddns.net (even I like it as very useful). As a part of gameplay, I want only depend what I got in the game.

So try imagine, I am in the system far away, and I need to find (on the map) systems with asteroids belts or planets with the rings. Is there any function on the map, so I could click on it (like eg commodity >> minerals >> colatan), so I could easily find it, or I need to click on any system nerbay (on the map) and read desription?

If you have space, add a prospector limpet to your set up.
That will allow you to check what is in an asteroid BEFORE you start mining it ...
Using the prospector (widget/finggy/controller) fire a limpet at an asteroid.
Target the limpet (either on it's way, or after it attaches).
The mineral composition of the asteroid will show in one of the bottom panels (forget which one) to when the limpet attaches.

I will also add that if you mine an asteroid without a Prospector Limpet the asteroid will yeald about 4-6 refinable "chunks" but you will get 2-3X that number if you limpet the roid first.

No, you have to first find systems with asteroids or ringed planets then check these to see if they are of the right type. Then to maximise return you have to look at the reserve state, Pristine is the best. It is a pretty slow and painful process but can be done in game. When travelling you can scan systems then then mark ones that have good reserves or you can look around on the Gal map, randomly checking the system maps for what you want. You can see why a lot of people say use a 3rd party resource, it is possible in game but not fun.
