How to find pirates in Anarchy system

As it says above. How do I find pirates for mission in an Anarchy system that has no nav point, or res? Do I need to just keep flying around and checking out every signal until I find the number I need?

Or scan every ship with a KWS and then blow it up. Chances are some will be pirates

Have gold may help.or In sc target a npc then cycle through sub systems. If they have a cargo scanner they should be a pirate so interdict them and see if kiling them counts.

Throw them in water. If they float they're a pirate if they sink.... Ummm probably a pirate
serioisly though un identified signal sources near the star are your only bet.

Actually not all NPCs with a bounty are pirates, although a lot of them are. The pirates are the ones who scan your cargo, and say things like "The scan doesn't hurt" or "What are you carrying?".

Look at subsystems, if they carry a Cargo scanner, they are almost always pirates, you can even check in Super Cruise.

Check for USS and you will find them. Or if you have enough guns and friends you might want to try the strong signal source, they are full of super loaded pirates ready to blast you. PS: that might take time!!

I stay away from the strong signal sources. I learned my lesson there with the large groups of missile toting pirates ambush.
I think from now on will check system before taking kill pirate missions. Sat in Anarchy system 2 hours, and only got 4 pirates out of 7 I needed. Was not worth the time, could have made 10times more cash sitting in res, or trading in same time.

Strong Signal Source are dangerous indeed.
I do like you: I avoid to take missions asking me to go hunt pirates in Anarchy systems as finding pirates there usually takes a while.

If you are trying to do a mission, just sit by the Nav beacon (assuming it is there) and wait to get scanned. You can tell whether you are scanned by a bounty hunter/authority or by a pirate from the text message they send you (bummer, no cargo means it is a pirate. pilot, you are clean means it is authority). Having some cargo would make them attack you, but it can be a bad thing if you run into a big wing.
