Newcomer / Intro How to Find RES?

You have to be within 1000 Ls before it pops up on your navigation pane.
Look in system map, you are looking for gas giants with rings.
But not any rings, have to be rock rings. Ice won't work, since there is nothing to extract.
Target the gas giant and SC there.
If there is a RES, it will popup on your navigation pane when you get close enough.

If you intend to do mining then I would advise looking for metallic rings first, metal rich rings second, and rocky rings third.
And don't do it at a RES.
There are a definitely systems in that area with Resource Extraction Sites, look at the System Map for stars near you, you're looking for planets (usually gas giants) with Rocky or metal rings. Fly to within 1,000 Ls and the sites should start appearing on your Nav panel.

LHS 3447 has extraction sites in the ring around LHS 3447 B3. The outpost "Lawson Orbital" orbits it.
Kremainn has extraction sites in the rings around Kremainn 2, a gas giant orbited by the coriolis station "Wohler Terminal"
Kremainn 4 is also a gas giant with rings and orbited by the outpost "Volta station", which is an industrial/refinery operation. Sometimes, they have their own extraction sites, too. Worth a look.
"Boswell Platform" and "MacArthur Terminal" in the LTT 18486 system both orbit gas giants with rings, and both are housing refineries. Chances are that you will find extraction sites in the planetary rings there as well. Both stations are outpost.
You have to approach the planet and get as near as 1000 ls minimum to see extraction sites pop up in your navigation tab. Simply jumping to a system does not reveal whether you can find any in there.

filter your map to systems with extraction economies, once you find one, go to system view to see if there are planets with rings present. jump to that system and look for the ringed planet. once youre close enough, you'll see the res pop up your nav or infront of you (if youre facing the planet)
