How to find targets in kill missions?

So you get a an offer like "kill these two traders for us - seen in Blah Blah system" or something like that. You jump to the system and then you're supposed to search in space in the hope that you randomly bump into them? :eek:

Or you're supposed to scan every ship you come across and if you scan the right one it will say "this is one of the guys you need to kill"? :rolleyes:

I must be missing something? :eek:

As Chris said search USS's for them in the mentioned systems, you can also find NPC's who point you in the right direction in the USS's

"We saw such and such in system"

head to that system and begin to sweep the USS's again.

seems to be pretty random, you can find them a few hundred MM from a Sun or thousands of LS from a system.

I usually just fly around and let the USS's come to me ;)

I'd like it if the targets could also spawn in the system and need to found / scanned/ chased / interdicted etc.
Much more fun than random USS encounters which feel very fake.

Maybe it's to come.
