How to fix billboard brightness without PS

Hello, I'd like to make my own billboards but I cannot figure out how to fix color profile without Photoshop which I do not own.
I am not even sure which color profile to use  .
Is there anyone who knows how to do this?

Are you using images in .jpg format? These are always too bright in game. Try only using .png images. You can simply convert jpg to png. I would recommend using canva.

Nope, they're .png.
I know I should set a different color profile but not sure which one if not using Photoshop. I have Gimp and Zoner Editor.

If you got windows and open the basic picture application on that, then you can edit the brightness easily in that program. I usually just go 80-100% to the dark side and save the image. Then they usually look good in game.

It's a long Time since I did this but I think opening the File in the pre-installed Photo Program in Windows 10 and then just saving it again, should fix the Problem. Still wish they would find a Way to solve this Problem. Don't even know how I could fix Videos for Billboards

I really do not wish to alter the actuall brightness of the picture. I feel that's the last resort. I'd like to see the actuall colors in the picture.

I'm gonna try this but this way it seems like it's a bug, lol.

EDIT: nope, didn't help.

Just remembered what it was like when I've made the Sign for Bushland Cafe. If I remember it correctly I used this Solution but when I used it in the Game, it seemed like it didn't work. Then I've tried it on another Screen and it worked.
For some Reason it seems to vary among Players if the lit Screen shows the Picture too bright or if the unlit Screen does it. So I'll recommend to try it on both Types of Screen because it seems like one of them will always show it too bright

I tried several screens and only the TV screen looks ok. All billboards are way too bright/light.
It's especially visible on the "black" borders.

😟 Really hope that if there won't be a official Solution, some Modder will figure it out somehow. Don't use Mods normally but if a Fix for this gets released, I'd immediately install it

No idea about that game (saw the thread in the "newest" sectionover in Elite Dangerous). For one thing, you might play around with the gamma values - of your display, your OS and even the game (if it has a corresponding setting).

If that doesn't help, you could give The GIMP a go. Gimp is an open source (free as in both free beer and free speech) pixel graphics program that is designed to be an alternative to Photoshop. For some things, PS is better - and especially some of the commercial PS plugins are better - but for your everyday image manipulation needs, it's more than sufficient. The official source is https://www.gimp.org/ . If you want (scroll down on the "Downloads" page), you can also download the source code, change it and build it yourself (FOSS) ;).

I do have gimp, the issue is not with the game but with color profile of my pictures I want to use in the game. There is solution for it in PS but I do not own it and I'm not also sure which color profile to use in that one too.
But thank you for trying to find a solution :)
