How To Fix the Advanced MC for the better!

It is no secret that the AMC is perhaps on of the biggest flops we have seen in Elite for a long time, perhaps even triggering more disappointment than when the copy and paste chieftain Mk1.00003 was released, the Crusader (you know, the one where it is an exact copy of chieftain, just performs worse and has spoiler and fighter bay) these AMC's are no different, they look the same and perform the same as regular MCs. only difference is that AX players can be robbed with an additional grind wall to use them by synthesizing ammo, very costly ammo.

This can still be changed however, to make AMCs something new and interesting. changes such as;
-Damage, should of initially been universal to begin with, the synth grind wall should be for more advanced ammo types, not a requirement to make the weapon actually function as intended.
-Appearance, add a Guardian glow to it or something to make it distinguishable. Make it shoot blue tracers by default.
-stats, at current there is not obvious change in stats that make this weapon 'Advanced'. changes could include a faster rate of fire, better AP qualities or just other stat changes in general.
-Add the Advanced missile rack as Tech broker, then apply same changes as above^

I really hope that future CGs do not award this type of item in the future, this was an immensely disappointing to the game that could easily of been something much more unique and awesome.

I get where you are coming from, but have a counter proposal.

Add an engineering option to the Advanced Multi-Cannon that makes the synthesis effect more permanent AND/OR add the option to purchase the synthesised ammo.

Alternatively, loosen the shackles on current experimental weaponry outfitting limits and leave the Advanced MC as-is.

I'm fine with them being only one damage type at the time, but would prefer there being some other way besides synthesis to get the AX mode. Preferably being able to select the ammo when arming them at the station, and you could still be able to synthesise if you got caught in the open with wrong type of ammo. Less preferably, there could be an engineering effect that flips the default ammo to AX.

For the appearance, I agree. It should have its own sound too. For stats I don't care that much.

They made pretty clear that the weapon that lost will never be seen, so I wouldn't get my hopes up about the missiles. Might be more constructive to set the sight of a dual-use class 3 and 4 weapons. A cannon, perhaps?

I've not been following this closely. Am I to believe that there are some new Guardian weapons that work like MCs but also have the option of ANti-Thargoid ammo reloads but you have to synthesis this ammo yourself because you can't buy it? And it takes loads of mats to do it?

No - on conclusion of a recent Interstellar Initiative (previously known as Community Goal), the Advanced MC was introduced as a non-experimental S/M weapon that could have it's ammo configured via Synthesis to affect Thargoids. That Synthesis requires 3 types of Guardian materials as well as 3 other more readily available materials.
