How to follow as FSD wake? doesnt seem to work

Ive tried countless times, from what I can find online it says scan the high energy wake which it should then show you the location, which it doesnt, then charge and jump which is what I do, it then says to target the destination, so I target the wake and nothing happens, flying through it and nothing happens

Jumping to another location doesn't do anything either, so as far as I can tell, this is another useless piece of equipment not even worth buying

You need a wake scanner for the high intensity ones. It's not required for the low intensity ones though.

Yes im scanning the wakes with a wake scanner, it says complete then nothing happens

It's completely non intuitive.

Target the Wake, and SCAN when complete the system name should appear in the wakes target description panel.

Then while the wake is still targeted active your FSD to jump, you'll then have to align your ship with the compass vector and you should jump if you’re within range. (I can't remember if there's a HUD vector to point to or not, I've always just aligned with the compass.)

That's exactly what I did

Scanned the wake, it says complete on the right panel

Nothing else shows up, nothing on the wake, nothing on the target panel on the left

[redacted], read the flight manual FD worked so hard on. Use the wake scanner on high/low energy wake then check ur wake scanner screen info for location of target...if it was successful u get a name of a location...n u can target wake and jump...if the wake has sat too long, data cannot be extracted and scan will fail..or if the ships wake scanned exceeds ur own jump range u of course will not be able to jump....pleez read.

I think you missing the step where you need to align with the system the wake scanner identified.

Point you ship at the full blue dot on your ships compass (While the wake is still targeted) If your FSD is charged then the jump drive should activate.

You should then come out in the target system in supercrusie with the ship already there and targetable, you'll need to interdict it to continue the fight.

Nothing happens at all when I scan the wake, it says COMPLETE....then nothing changes on my screen

Yeah, the manner in which a question is asked... when I want something like information I try and frame it nicely.

When the scan is complete the star system is displayed in the lower-left box.

The ship had just jumped, and was an eagle, seeing as I have the mx jump range on my Cobra its unlikely he can go further than me

Nothing happens at all when I scan the wake, it says COMPLETE....then nothing changes on my screen

In ur wake scanner window ther will b a location if scan was successful.
