How to free slaves?

I had this mission requiring to free 2 Slaves. I bought 2 at a station — 2 Slaves as requested not Imperial Slave — came back to the port where I got the mission and I have no way to turn them in, the mission even doesn't appear anymore in the Bulletin Board. I ended selling them to the black market, odd thinking but that was the only solution I could see and obviously it didn't work.

Earlier I had an offer to sell them to a competitor instead so the mission has an alternate turn in, is that the reason why I can't free them anymore? If that's not the case, what the heck am I supposed to do with these slaves to complete the mission?

yeah dude, your mission was bugged sadly.

The alternative version would of just got you to deliver them somewhere else for an alternative price. Most of the time its just a dressed up version of "get us X amount of X item". 2 slaves for around 50k was how i started trading in this game so i did and handed it in alot.

The reward for the original mission was reputation if I remember. I don't want to sell them! ;)

Well at least it's a bug, I was starting to question my intelligence...
