[How to] Get Elite Dangerous working on OSX and Linux

Hey folks,

I found a little cheat that got Elite working on my Macbook Pro!

So valve launched their new in-home streaming functionality to Steam.

I had added the Elite Launcher to my Steam listings and when on the mac noticed it was enabled and showed I could stream it!

Lo and behold it worked! And a charm too in terms of FPS (as the rendering is done on my PC anyway) but I couldn't really get the controls working well and crashed.

Edit: Caveat emptor you need a PC to do this as it renders on the PC and is streamed to the mac

Thanks! Good to know it’s do-able ( well sort of anyways LOL ) - can’t afford Beta anything but it may be a while before the Mac version is out - so I’ll hopefully still be getting to the stars this way ( Mac being my preferred platform but I do keep a Windows server downstairs when needed )!
