Ships How to get Fedaral Navy Rank for Corvette

I need to grind federal navy ranks in order to get the Corvette.

I am currently lieutenant, and it is increasing very slowly.

Does anyone know any up to date methods? I have tried mass transporting passengers from damaged stations, but there are currently non with a single federation faction.

Thanks in advance

EDIT: What is the most enjoyable way of getting to rear admiral in a few weeks-months

You have enough rank to goto Sol. Go there and run missions. All of the factions are aligned with the federation. Take the rep++++ rewards. I did that playing for about 4-5 hours a week, and I went from Lieutenant Commander to Rear Admiral after about 4 months.

You need a lot of credits to properly outfit a Corvette. I just focused on Missions to accumulate credits without focusing on my Federal Navy Rank. I was surprised when I hit Rear Admiral.

A few days of Void Opal mining will earn enough credits for a fully outfitted Corvette. That's what I did after I made Rear Admiral. Plus it got me to Trade Elite so I could go to Jameson to get all of the A-rated module for my Corvette.

I have 200,000,000 cr in my current ship and 70mil cr in balance. I'm almost an elite explorer so I can get around 6mil credits in a single planetary scanning mission. I've unlocked most of the guardian modules and engineers so outfitting shouldn't be a problem

I will use is as an AX ship with the following loadout:

It will cost you about 500 million credits to fully A-rate a Corvette.

You'll find that most of the cost of A rating a corvette comes from power plant, hull, shields and thrusters.

By going for an engineered B class power plant instead of A class, you save 90 mil credits.

Swapping A thrusters to B thrusters saves 30 mil.

Swapping military composite for reinforced alloy saves 75 mil.

Probably not a good idea to skimp on the shields though, especially on an AX fighter.

Therefore, it costs 356 mil and lots of engineering for a good AX Corvette (incl. ship), assuming I attain elite status in exploration and buy it a Jameson's

Never use anything less than an A-rated FSD. I have a 30 LY range with my G5 engineered A-rated FSD and a Guardian FSD booster. You should also A-rate your thrusters, as this will maximize your maneuverability. I currently have my A-rated thrusters at G3 DD drag, but I am planning to get them to G5 when I get back to the bubble. I'm currently out on exploration meeting the 5000 LY unlock for Palin. Hopefully he will be up and running when I get back.

You wanna do AX and you're cutting back on Hull points? Okay....

I'm using 7 engineered hull reinforcements which provide 6,300 hull points

It cost 75 mil more for 500 hp with military composite

Btw, I only want to kill a few Cyclopses, I wasn't thinking about going to solo a Hydra

Since my Corvette is purely a combat ship I went A rated everywhere I thought I needed it and engineered it to the max. It costs me about 573 million. I also didn't worry too much about jump range. If you add a Guardian FSD booster it will add 10.5 LY to your jump range. IMO I would go with the best you can afford with this ship. It will be worth it.

A good way to rank up is to take Boom data and expansion data missions. You can stack 20 missions (I think) at a time. You should run between two Federal systems that are close together. Take the rep reward for all 20 missions each time. You will have to relog several times to stack the 20 missions. You will rank up quickly.

I think they nerfed board switching but I'll try it anyway

So I just found out about void opal mining...

Turns out credits aren't going to be a problem any more. I'll probably get a full A class loadout

Look towards the edge of the bubble for secluded federation systems in boom. They tend to have many data and courier missions for the same place. Pick the rep rewards and it will take days, not weeks.

You can have a Corvette for much less and it will work fine, but a full combat one, with reactive armor, costs more than 700 mil..

Thanks, my current T-10 could barely make it to Sol from Carpaka (my old home which got destroyed by thargoids :(. It had a guardian tech broker, 3 fed factions, encoded trader and it was high tech so good outfitting and sold corvettes)

It would take forever to get to the outer bubble.

I'll throw in a guardian fsd booster if I can find somewhere that sells them

Now that they've nerfed board switching it can be pretty hard to find tons of missions for the same location

I'll be sure to give it a go though.

P.s. I was going to buy the covette and then get modules and upgrades for it. I'll probably do some void opal mining this week for creds

I found a system named gang yun which has 4 federation factions in boom state.

Looks like a trip for the asp though because my t10 would take about 20 jumps to get there.

My asp will do it in 5-6 jumps

EDIT: The T10 wouldn't fit on the launch pad anyway
