Newcomer / Intro How to get HGEs twice after logoff/logon

Hi folks,

I remembered a long time ago there was a method that goes something like this:

1. Scan nav beacon
2. Go to HGE site that has some time left
3. Pick up items
4. Logoff/logon
5. Go into SuperCruise and click the closest signal source
6. Go to that site
7. Pick up items
8. Goto Step 4

However, I tried that just now and when I got back there was not any nearby signal source that was my HGE site.

Did this get disabled? I tried both Odyssey and Horizons.

When? It worked for me last week.

@OP step 4 isn´t enough to log out to main menu, you need to close the game.

I remember reading this after one of the recent oddity updates. Or it could be the mushrooms, I never really know these days.

The log on / off exploit was fixed. Presumably when people abuse the task kill exploit that will get fixed too. Strangely the relogging for non-HGE materials has never been removed, in fact they even expanded it to accommodate base-runs for data (which used to have a week or so refresh timer) and reworked Dav's several times for example to correct terrain issues. (So the devs have a heart it seems.)

When? It worked for me last week.

It worked for me today. I spent the better part of the morning farming imperial shielding in Beatis. It worked as usual, at least in Horizons.

@_bryan What they said. You gotta logoff to desktop, not main menu.

I saw a fleet carrier recently named High Grade Emissions. I thought that was some first class trolling.

Okay I think maybe I was not going all the way to the desktop. I will give that a try next time.

Yes, Works fine, completely close game then log in and HGE reappears.

Well I just tried using encoded emissions and it worked. My test was using Odyssey.

But since I was all full up on encoded I only did it 2 times.
