Newcomer / Intro How to get invitation to leave starting area

Ive done probably a hundred courier missions and all of my ranks (combat, trade, explorer, cqc) are all still at 0%.
Ive ranked up to Friendly with the Pilots Federation.
I got a letter that said once I reached a new rank I would be given an invitation mission to leave the starting area. Does this mean my rank with the Pilots federation or the rank of one of these 4 attributes? How do I rank these up if not through the missions ive been doing? How do I get this mission to leave the starting area?

Try something that isn't a courier mission. Or do a courier mission outside the starter area. It's actually harder to stay in here than to get thrown out
