Found out how. I had to go to a Federation port with a shipyard and I could get it from there shipped to me. I was previously at an Independent port so could not.
It would be really cool if that feature were implemented...
So I bought a spare sidewinder. Left it at shipyard. Flew to another shipyard in same system. No option to ship the ship over to the new shipyard.
bummer.
I backed the game buying early on so I had a Sidewinder and an Eagle. The Eagle like the Sidewinder started at Federation stations. I had to dock at a Federation station with my sidewinder to request the Eagle to be shipped to the Federation port I was at. I'm sure others can corroborate the methodology.
you sure that's right, mine was in the same system about 350 LS away. Check that it's LY and not LS.
All I can say is that you have to ensure your spare ship is at a Federation port with a shipyard (ships for sale etc) and your existing ship is at a Federation one too. I shipped my free Eagle upgrade to where my Sidewinder was and swapped ships. I cannot say if this works for all ships and not just the extras granted at start of game for early backers, but I'll try and report back when I have some spare credits.
Different star systems 61,000+ Light Years apart.
My Eagle is located 61,000 light years from my Sidewinder. How do I get it shipped to me?
