Newcomer / Intro How To Get My Eagle Shipped?

Found out how. I had to go to a Federation port with a shipyard and I could get it from there shipped to me. I was previously at an Independent port so could not.

I didnt think getting ships shipped had made it into game ? Thought you had to manually fly to them and switch at the station the other ship was in. In which case i was going to suggest buying a disposable sidewinder.

I backed the game buying early on so I had a Sidewinder and an Eagle. The Eagle like the Sidewinder started at Federation stations. I had to dock at a Federation station with my sidewinder to request the Eagle to be shipped to the Federation port I was at. I'm sure others can corroborate the methodology.

-.- ... and here I was carefully planning how to get back to my second ship to strip and sell it ... I thought the shipping ship stuff was not in yet too.

Oh thank God, I was about to abandon my plan to max out equipment on each ship (to prevent me from skipping straight to Cobra) and sell off my Sidewinder and Eagle.

It would be really cool if that feature were implemented...

So I bought a spare sidewinder. Left it at shipyard. Flew to another shipyard in same system. No option to ship the ship over to the new shipyard.

bummer.

All I can say is that you have to ensure your spare ship is at a Federation port with a shipyard (ships for sale etc) and your existing ship is at a Federation one too. I shipped my free Eagle upgrade to where my Sidewinder was and swapped ships. I cannot say if this works for all ships and not just the extras granted at start of game for early backers, but I'll try and report back when I have some spare credits.

you sure that's right, mine was in the same system about 350 LS away. Check that it's LY and not LS.

Different star systems 61,000+ Light Years apart.

I can confirm this is incorrect. I am currently at a Federation controlled station in a Federation controlled system. My other ship is parked at a Federation controlled station in another Federation controlled system. There is no "ship transfer" option.

Another clue that the OP is at the wind-up - 61,000 LY between stations? The galaxy is "only" about 100,000 LY across, populated space is nowhere near big enough to have stations 61,000 LY apart.

I'm very confused about this as well - I cannot verify or deny it because I'm at work, but this would be huge news if it were true. People have been clamoring for ship transfers nearly as much as they were for the route planning and I don't recall seeing it in the patch/server notes...
