How do I get a view in third person, or from outside my ship? I am new player here only 1 week/70 hours so far. I have seen screens posted of ships exploring stars, and such, and shows ship from third person view, or from outside cruising by stars and what not. I have tried, and looked through keys and cannot find a way to do this. Is there a way? or was there a way and they removed it? please if anyone knows.

This, also be aware you can't fly your ship or fire guns when in this mode, so make sure you do it in a safe place.
I think it's CRTL+ALT+Space by default. You can change the binding in options, it's called Debug Cam. Once you go to the cam you drive it around like a ship. F10 to take a screenshot, ALT+F10 to take a mega screenshot in Solo. Pictures saved in Pictures folder under Frontier Developments.

Also OP, don't forget that you have ZERO ship control in camera mode. The ship flight controls are now driving your camera around, right down to thrusters, till you get back inside. Your ship will be doing what it was last doing when you left it, so don't be flying at a star or something equally fatal while you're outside checking your paint.

Ok I found it, its not easily found as it is under the wrong Category, but its there.
