Not known, if it's even possible. Trust me, many would like to see what's there.
The Polaris permit is currently unobtainable. As Polaris was one of the key story locations in the prequel game involving the Thargoids (Frontier: First Encounters), many people have indeed wished to "return to Polaris" to see if there's anything Thargoid-related to see there. But, "Universal Cartographics says NO". The door is locked, and no-one knows where the key is. It is generally assumed that, if and when FD get around to continuing the Thargoid storyline, that Polaris and the permit to visit there are going to become a key location.
