How to GG a CG.

So the current CG is offering 8000 CR per ton profit on Palladium.

Hence there is none available right now within 150ly of the system.

Is this really how to make this rather fusty game play mechanic popular again?

Just leave the palladium for the CMDRs with small ships and haul Beryllium or Indium. Profit is still good and you can fill your hold very easy.

I did a quick analysis of the CR stats, if you haul anything other than Palladium, you can expect say 15 milo CR plus 10 milo from trade, if you haul Palladium in a big ship you can expect 100 milo from the trade profits alone from 20 trips.

If it is an unpopular and fusty (thanks for the addition to my lexicon, never heard that one) game mechanic, how did it drain all Palladium reserves in a radius of 150 ly?

...because they offered 8000cr per ton profit on one of the commodities?

This CG is twice as popular as the last 10 cmdr.

Not trying to be antagonistic here, just not sure what you're getting at. You don't want CG's to have a high paying option on cargo because it will make it more popular and sell out every station within 150 ly, or you like the idea of a big payout but want unlimited reserves close by?

Sorry, I beg to differ (edit: answer to john willi)

I traded 16,000 tons in my 752 ton cutter and made on average 5,200 cr / ton on Beryllium. So that CG netted me over 80 million plus the 23 million bonus for the top 10%.

For 22 trade runs.

Also I did about 50 million Bounty Hunting, for another 24 million top10 % bonus in the same system, mostly with the same Cutter.

For me, this CG is one of the most successful CGs since a long long time.

And I did one load of Palladium.

Fair point, there was another bonus I missed here, thanks for your comments cmdr.

Vedmo, sorry for not being clear, I guess my point was about making CG popular, when they seem a little tired as a gameplay mechanic, (pew pew/fetch and carry) by offering mega money to participants, rather than coming up with something new and more interesting after many years waiting.

I think ‘fusty’ pronounced with a pronounced ‘U/ooo’ may be part of the Scottish lexicon, my adopted home cmdr.

I totally missed your point then (obtuse is a talent of mine), thanks for the clarification. I hadn't done a CG for a good while until this one, did one Palladium run when I first headed to CDP 20-whatever then a few Beryllium runs and got some bounties off of interdictions. Didn't last longer than a few hours though, and it was back to what I had been doing, so won't argue they can get stale.

Curious what the next one will be like after the decal announcement.
