Newcomer / Intro How to gimbal weapn?

hello guys!
sorry for the newb question, but I had gimbaled lasers on my Sidewinder, now bought a Cobra III and put the same Pulse Lasers on the 4 hardpoints, but the thing is now not gimbaled. Do I need to press some button to switch between modes, or do I need to install something like a subsystem, or what?

Nope - they gimbal automatically. Are you sure you didn't buy fixed lasers by mistake? Pic of hardpoint outfitting would clear that up.

ah that is probably it. thank you. I will check in the equipment. It came with 2 lasers and I stuck 2 more on it. might be fixed then.

The only other thing is that 2 are on top and 2 are on the bottom of a Cobra - if they don't have line-of-sight to the target they will stay centred I think - so you might just not have line-of-sight.

If the weapons are fixed the little icon associated with them on the modules tab in your right hand screen in the cockpit will be a crosshair, gimbals have a cross shape made up of two narrow ellipses while turrets have a simple drawing of a gun turret.

In outfitting it will also say in the descriptions and be reflected in the price with fixed cheapest and turrets most expensive.

The default weapons on new ships are fixed, and often undersized to make things worse.
