How to hunt down an assassination target?

Not gonna lie, always been more a trader than a big game bounty hunter. Decided to try it out for a change. This guy's been seen in three different systems. Anybody have any tips on how to find him or a bonafide method? Should I be looking for him at nav points or USS's? Or will I have to interdict him in SC?

Any help or experiences on the subject are greatly appreciated. If I die upon finding him, I'll just haunt you as a token of my thanks.

I've just accepted a similar mission, wondering about the same thing really (plus, how do you interdict someone in SC? I've never done that before. The other way is another story, but I've so far escaped most of them). So far all I've done is targeting ships one by one while in SC, in one of the systems, but haven't found him yet. One of the three systems I can't even get to (out of FSD range), so I suspect he has a better ship and that this is actually a suicide mission in my Sidewinder :p

To interdict you have to:

1. Have the interdictor installed
2. Have it configured as a secondary or primary weapon
3. Be behind the target in SC
4. Be going FASTER than the target in SC
5. Be within range of interdiction in SC (generally with even the crappiest one you can do it from a reasonable range)
