Hardware & Technical How to INCREASE room noise during voice recording?

Unfortunately, my microphone doesn't have the ability to disable it's own ability: Room noise muffling. My microphone is a Genius desktop microphone and there seems to be a built-in fabric that prevents echo receive... no way to take it apart.

My Realtek software and Windows audio device management don't show any options to disable muffling, either. I'm trying to record music live to other players in-game (not Elite: Dangerous), so I don't want no "audio saving" stuff here. I'm doing the stupid way of recording music by placing my mic in front of my speakers and I want to keep it that way. Any help? Thanks in advance.

Read the data sheet: http://www.geniusnet.com/Genius/wSi...pload/support/eCatalogue/audio/PA_MIC-01A.pdf

It seems to be an ordinary microphone.

The problems must be with your setup, your software or possibly an interaction with your loud speakers.

Set up is your sound card and the windows settings.

Open Control Panel. Click Sound. On Recording Panel Panel click the microphone you use then click Properties. Levels. Set microphone to max and Boost to min or just above. Enhancements. Remove ticks. Advanced, set to CD Quality and make shore both boxes are ticked.

If it is software then you simply need to try something different. Google for sound recording software free. Set the setting in the sound panel, above, to default before using.

The last is unlikely, but can be check by moving the microphone away from the speakers. Ideally it should be cited where you are, with the speakers where they would normally be.
