I use a class 4 scoop in my Vulture as I don't run with SCB as my power is too limited. I use 2xA rated shield boosters which means my shields can take a tonne of punishment before they die, if they go then I bail. Without using a SCB that class 4 slot isn't that much use really but a 4C scoop will fill the tank in seconds which makes a trek across the inhabited bubble much easier.
I said it before and i'll make the point again, get the A rated power distributor as soon as you can, it's quite cheap and makes a massive difference.
