Horizons How to land at a star port

Hi, I should really know this, but I'm failing to see how to get permission to land at a planetary star port. On approach I try to find the usual request to dock/land, but don't seem to find it. This I'm just getting shot at either in my ship or my srv. Clearly doing something wrong, would be grateful for guidance. Many thanks.

Only outpost that look like a little tower on the planet map can be docked at, the other settlements you have to land outside and go to with your SRV, be careful some are hostile!

Silly question here: Have you seen the training missions? You should spend the extra half an hour and play through them.

To get permission, approach the starport (5,5KM) and then select it on the left panel and choose request docking.
Same goes for stations (7.5KM).

There are training missions for Horizons? :-0

BTW OP, nice attitude, refreshing to see somebody asking the question rather than the whole, "This is ridiculous!" thing. :)

Make sure you are at an outpost where you actually CAN land... i.e. has landing pads.

Any outpost / settlement with the + sign behind them are NOT places where you can land on a landing pad. Those are just for missions.

E.g. "Randomland (++)" would be a settlement used for missions, and NOT for landing your starship.

When approaching the regular settlements just get within the 8km marker and request docking via the left hand Contacts panel as you do when docking at space stations.

Thanks very much for the replies guys. Due to family I can only dip in and out unfortunately despite being premium beta backer (the shame!). Will check out the training missions. Had expected to see docking request as per the space stations but suspect I'll find them. Thanks again.
