How to launch Horizons in Steam VR if you have Odyssey installed?

Just like the title says... When I go to launch the game in Steam VR, it automatically launches Odyssey by default. This is not desirable due to poor performance in general even for space flight.

So, is there a way to launch Horizons in VR without disabling the Odyssey DLC?

If you launch from steal it should launch a launcher. That launcher will give you an option for Horizons or Odyssey. If somehow it sent you straight into the game, exit and you should see the launcher on your desktop. You might have to take the hmd off for second to launch it.

I do it this way...

1. Make sure SteamVR is running.
2. Click "Launch" in Steam but choose the non-VR option "Play Elite Dangerous"
3. This will open the launcher.
4. Choose Horizons from the option box next to the "Play" button.
5. Click "Play" and it should launch into VR automatically.

If you just choose the "Play in VR" option in Steam then the Elite Launcher automatically chooses Odyssey so you don't get a chance to pick which version you want.

Go to the folder with the Elite Dangerous Launcher and make a shortcut to desktop.
Edit the shortcut and append the Target (outside of the quotation makes) with /VR
When you fire up the launcher click on Horizons.

That worked for me.

Thank you trying to help me. The shortcut let me pick Horizons from the launcher. However seen in the head set was steam mountains and grid lines. The game looked like it was running in the usual VR window on the desktop just did not get to the headset from some reason. Tried a few times.

Got it work. I have to go in through Steam room and takes me in Odyssey VR. Then I have to quit to desktop and it gives me a launcher that I can select horizons on. Still thinking about removing the POS.
