IF you happen to buy your copy of ED from steam after April of last year, you must utilized Steams launcher. One could do it prior to April, 2019, but for some reason unknown to us, it's no longer possible. That said, with the new DLC only available via steam, perhaps the ability will be available again.I'm trying to open the game with the laucher instead of steam, I log in using my credential from https://www.frontierstore.net/ but it thinks I haven't bough the game. I imagine it will be available from the store. It won't be available from the Frontier store? Has that been officially stated?
I imagine it will be available from the store.
I don't do Steam.
no need to run it with the launcher exe - you can just change settings with EDProfiler, then close it and launch the game normally - it will keep the settings (unless you change them ingame of course). I do it all the time when I switch between flatscreen (for screenshots) and VR (for playing). In that case is there any way I can use EDprofiler in steam? You have to run it with the launcher exe so I don't see any way through steam.
open files [ in steam],look for icon eagle send to desk top, double click it and it takes you to main launch page, click play, thats how i do it ,only go into steam if i have to,

No it has not been stated. The idea that it will be Steam-only is just that people see the "wishlist" thing and make assumptions. Alarmist rubbish that was shot down a yonk ago.
Yes, I believe that's the case also. At the end of all the teaser videos Frontier is the first of the 'platforms' listed followed by Steam, Xbox and PS4.
But people come up with all sorts of stuff on the forums, so I just wanted to see whether there was any basis for the comment. I also don't do steam.![]()
