How to make franchise more difficult?

Hi,
As the title says I was wondering how you all make franchise more difficult once you know how to play? I've been playing since the game came out and have no problems making money and have more than enough CC.

I have started a new zoo today and currently only have Aldabra tortoises and chimpanzees and my money is quite steady around $750,000. Im trying to make a zoo thats look good as well as functions good but how else can I make the game more difficult?

I have the same issue, with almost 100 miljon in cash and 5.5 miljon in cc, it is way to easy.. :( even on hard mode in the arctics and i do nothing special.
 
Might be a silly question, but have you tried increasing the difficultly setting to hard?
I have but it didn't make much difference. And because of the bugs with animals escaping when they hadn't actually escaped or had walked/swam through a barrier it made it unplayable for me. But I still didn't find it hard to make money on there

Yeah ive tried hard and didnt see any difference. Other than paying a lot of refunds as mentioned above because of the bugs when animals "escaped".
 
I tend to find that with planet games if you want a challenge you might have to set some restrictions for yourself. It's a bit like Sims I suppose where you can set artificial rules. For example in challenge mode i have a zoo where if an animal comes up in the market as a rescue when I go on there I HAVE to rescue it. I can't buy animals that aren't rescued so some animals I can't breed at all. I hope one day we will get a scenario editor for PZ to allow us to create some more fiendish situations.
 
I mentioned in another post a while ago that I'd like to see something weather related apart from animals get cold/hot. A lot of games have weather related issues. Maybe barriers get affected by different weather conditions. Storms break things etc. I tend to play in franchise because I like the choice (or no choice as it is sometimes 😂) on the market.
 
I agree with @Cocolori - any more complicated challenges must be suggested by the community with rules that make it more complicated, e.g. limit entry price to very low (perhaps free?), limit number of donation boxes per habitat,...

Another possibility (although it won't work for everyone) is to play on hard mode, thinking of the bugs, glitches, and escapes as part of the challenge. Just like in real life, there may be some things that can be changed, and others that just come out of left field, that you still have to contend with. Trouble with climbing? Force yourself to build a new climbing frame each time. Animals glitching through walls? Maybe you need a second, third, or fourth barrier structure so they can't get close enough to it to glitch through.

I presume that you've already explored the other, non-monetary, types of challenges too. Like having all animals at 100% happiness, getting guests to 100% happiness, or only allowing yourself certain animals or types. Like the rescues, or animals with only red or yellow stats, or all 400 stat animal breeding, all highest food quality, etc. You could also try a different mix of carnivores vs. herbivores (to increase food costs), or only allowing yourself to purchase the highest cost animals (cc becomes a bit harder if you only buy 10K animals -- even for peafowl and warthogs!). Or all your money from shops alone or donations alone. Or with all animals on contraception (so no kids to attract guests), or no animals on contraception (forcing you to build more to contend with population booms), etc.

Granted, these are all artificial challenges that aren't imposed by the game itself, but since you know how to play, it is basically taking away any combination of the things you know will give you cash or cc, and seeing if you can still achieve without those easier solutions. Good luck!

Allow me to piggyback off of this. Regarding the scenario-editor: I would love some random event to occur within the game. Things like wildfires, flooding or vulcanic activity. It doesn't need to happen in the actual map, but just the ingame universe. Example: A wildfire is raging in Australia and 20 koalas need to be rescued and housed while the recover.

I would also like to see random things happen in the parks themselves. Such as fires in buildings and complation during a birth.

I would love if we have challenges like this. Or population has declined and they want you to release so many to the wild. Maybe they could add like a separate "job" section. I have another game where you can choose a job to take on. Like smaller community challenges, even if you just got extra cc or cash it would give people a goal if they wanted it.
With your example they could add these 20 to your rewards section but as they do with animals bought for cash, you can't sell them or if you try its for 0cc/cash. Im not sure how easy/difficult to add stuff like this to game is though
