With the addition of picnic benches, having plazas are going to be essential. I managed to fill in the gaps accidentally once but I have no idea how I did it. Since then I have built swervy paths and filled the gaps with trees which is not ideal for a plaza.
Select grid, and then you can make a square plaza out of it. Want it to be round? Delete the corner piece, place a new pathpiece there (non grid) and delete it. Now it will be rounded.
