Newcomer / Intro How to Meet the 5,000 ly Travel Requirement?

Palin, the old goat, wants me to travel 5000 ly before we can talk.
I've a friend who did this and just took off into the inky blackness of space.
He even discovered 34 bodies, in the bubble.

I appreciate that initiative; however, there were no stations out there and I'd rather get 5,000 ly out and sell my data and then head back to Deciat and sell data again when I get there.

Long story short: What is a good system/station to target that meets the 5,000 ly requirement and has a station to greet me when I get there?

Here was mine. 5,077 light years, and a place to sell your stuff.

I still recommend saving it to spread around for rep in the bubble, but do as you please

You can simply take a 'famous explorer' out there.
You'll get some nice payment this way and they lead you to some nice attractions.

I went to the Crescent Sector, CRESCENT SECTOR DL-Y E6 to be precise, as it's around 5000LY from the bubble. Medusa’s Rock asteroid base is there. As a bonus there's a small but pretty nebula. I used https://www.spansh.co.uk/plotter to calculate Neutron star boosts. Together with synthesis it didn't take anywhere near as long as I expected.

One of the Colonia Connection planetary bases is fairly close to the bubble I think. 5-7k out.

Hillary Depot, maybe? Or is it Eagle’s Landing?
