How to move/rotate pieces without creating a new building?

Trying the game now, and having a huge disappointment.

Trying to create a building, i want to be able to move every piece the way I want, but it does not seem to be possible. Still if I end the building and "create a new" one, I can manage to move the pieces the way i want... Isn't there a way to be able to rotate and also move everything without having to go through this annoying trick?

Thanks.

Yes there is, but it involves math. Which I am not good at.

Basically everything fits nicely at 90 degree angles. Once you start moving away from 90 degrees, wall pieces would need to be longer to fill the grid square diagonally, to connect to the next 90 degree wall, for instance. To be able to build at all angles, the grid would have to continually adapt to the measurement of the fixed size wall piece.

Geometry!

I see you have already had the question answered, but there is a bit of a work-around.
You can create multiple buildings to create your one big building, but then select all the buildings and create a blueprint out of that. It will certainly help if you plan on using the same building or slight variations of it multiple times throughout the park.

But I personally don't see too much of an issue with how the system is. It's a minor inconvenience having to select maybe one or two more buildings.

Have you selected the wall piece and hit Move(M)? You can then press Z to rotate 90 degrees or hold Z to rotate it with the mouse, alternately you can press X twice to use the advanced rotate function.

I have tried hitting z but get no 90 degree rotation. Is there a bug. With m all I get is the xyz translation/move. I want to be able to rotate bits 90 degrees on the grid. Everyone says hit z but it does nothing for me. I have not remapped the keys.

Not sure if I'm being clear, you have to be moving the object to use Z to rotate not when its already set in place. Does it still not work?

Are you using a non-QWERTY keyboard by any chance?
