just got my CV1 - I had previously installed ED in a different directory - but it looks like Oculus installs only in a couple of places by default! I got my product key from frontier - but when I put it in Elite APP - its trying to download the entire game in its location - is there a way for me to point Oculus to pluck elite from its already downloaded location? (have Internet Cap issues - else wouldve downloaded )

Enable allow 'unknown sources' in settings->general in the oculus software. Then simply start ED (like you did before) and select HDM(headphones). and good to.

Just to clarify, this will require you to start Elite from the original Frontier launcher. You can't start it from Oculus Home. It's a little less convenient, since you need to use a mouse to start it, then put the HMD on.
