How to recycle a second-hand Alliance Chieftain?

Greetings to all CMDR!

I have in my Fleet Carrier a second Alliance Chieftain (the first one I use for AX combat) which I used to use to explore and collect materials in the maelstrom, but I no longer use it.

The specifications of the ship are these (apologies for the Autodocking Computer!)

second-hand Alliance Chieftain

I have engineered all the Core Internals. Do you have any suggestions for me? Do I store the Core Internals in my Fleet Carrier and then sell the ship, or do you have any other builds you can suggest for me to do other things, like combat, exploration, taxi factotum, ship for on-foot missions, ship for fluttering through some canyon on an unexplored planet.

I'm open to any suggestions! :D

Just use it for whatever purpose you mentioned, it's a very responsive ship.

On an irrelevant subject, if that's your user name, I feel sorry for the ones that try to guess your password 😅

I know! It's a good Ship! When I registered, I made a mistake and put the password instead of the username, and the username instead of the password... my username is.... oops! I talk too much! :ROFLMAO:

It's "Password" - the username breaks them every time instead!

Fit it out with cannons & dumbfires, add 4 SRVs, good shields & armour and use it as a ground assault craft?

Excellent! Thank you! Really nice idea! dumbfire missile for killing scavenger! (y)
;)

I don't think I've ever sold a ship! I've got 35 including about 5 vipers and 3 Anacondas used just for module and weapon storage...

Um... ships as storage for modules... good idea... I'm going to buy a dozen Imperial Cutters :p

Thanks, interesting suggestion. ;)
Packhounds..... cant go wrong with packhounds

Bill

Except when firing all 5 at once melts your ship(and GPU) :D
Argh! Powerplay, the only time I did it was with the princess with divine powers Aisling Duval to get the prismatic shield.

On a serious note i turned mine into a spires lander for on foot material gathering:

Here comes a stupid suggestion, based on personal experience.
I had a spare Vulture, and nothing to do with it, so I turned into a passenger ship.
Why?
Because, obviously!

Essential equipment on 95% of my ships...
I think the folk who used to be so mocking over any of the flight assists have gone to Star Citizen now :ROFLMAO:
I'm less mocking of it and more annoyed that such things take up a module slot. Should be some kind of upgrade for that bottom slot that we cant use at all instead.

Some HCS voice pack commands for those modules tickle my nerd fancies but I can never justify the use of them over something else when I am perfectly capable of flying my own ship, and way more capable than that clumsy autopilot. More value in a small fuel scoop to catch a neutron jet as I'm traveling, or a module reinforcement, surface scanner etc...

The wonderful thing about all of the flight assists is that they are entirely optional - if you need a slot for something you consider essential, the essential wins every time.
I'm perfectly capable of flying my own ship too - but appreciate the convenience of the limited automation we have been provided with, so use it whenever I wish, it works for me!

Mate its a trade off, my truck has a CB built into the top overhead compartment, this severely impacts on the amount of pastys i can store, but needs must.

Trade-offs are fine but this is a bad one. The flight assists would be better suited as higher power/mass/ some other detriment upgrade to the Planetary Approach module

It just seems more appropriate. The flight control modules go in the flight control slot.

But they are two separate items with their own mass, try as i might i wont get any more pastys and sausage rolls in that compartment.
