Horizons How to save plotted routes?

So I'm heading into deep space, and plotting routes as far out as it lets me. I usually look for a interesting star that will be on my way toward even deeper space.
But if I don't write the stars name down on paper, it will be lost to me if I logg off or even worse, my game crash.
So how can I save the plotted route so I can be right on it when I logg in next game session, instead of typing in the name or search for it yet again?

You can't. 19st cent tech in 33th cent. No ship journal, no trackers, nothing. Navigate by the stars like ancient seatravelers!
:p

I see. Well, then I guess I have to pretend I'm like Leiv Eiriksson and see if I can discover my own America by chance, or be lost in space.. :D

Thanks for answer. :)

If you "write down" the destination system to a file on your computer, either through a specialized exploration tool or something much simpler like notebook, then you can copy the star name to the clipboard and paste it directly into the Search field of the galaxy map.

You are very wrong, even 10 years back i could plot and save routes on our sailships gps and before that using LORAN (and even transfer them to other ships, and it was not an very big ship !)

So 19cent navigation tech > 33th cent navigation tech

They have programmed an incredibly amazing system to simulate 400 Billion stars and yet not given us the simple ability to bookmark or manage persistent routes or travel logs. It seems somewhat ironic don't you think.

You do realize that 10 years ago was still part of the 21st century, right?

If you meant that you were bopping about in the 1800's using gps on your sailboat, well... there are some questions you're going to need to be answering.

I meant gps about 10 years back and before that was LORAN.
So well, about since 1995 i was able to store, transfer and edit nav data.
before that laptops where not really meant to be used on sailships (prefer tablets though, they are way better equipped to survive moisture)

Hey Zeromancer, I do exactly the same thing you do except I make a note of the system I am heading for and input it at the start of every exploration session until I reach it. I am keeping a log of my journey, noting each system I discover either partially or fully. As I am out exploring for a full year it will be a true record of my journey through the stars :)
