How to start a themed ride?

Hi,

I was very thrilled by Fate of Atlantis wha I saw in steam Workshop.
There are many more very very nice themed rides out there.

My question si how to start this? I mean, do you first design the building etc and then lay the track? I tried several thing but I always hustle with getting the walls nicely alinged but due to the grid most of the time I cant get it good so a piece of wall is or sticking a little in the trackk or to far away for it.

Hopefully some of you can point me in the good direction.

Personally, the stuff I design is probably simple by comparison, but i find the best way to go about it is to build both a little at a time. For example i build a short section of track, then construct the building around to see how (or if) the two will work together, make adjustments as necessary, set up scenery and triggers, then move onto the next section.

It really depends on:
1) The type of ride. It's a lot easier to build a car/cat/sleigh track as you go along creating buildings and changing topography than it is a coaster.
2) Your skill at eyeballing coaster tracks to get the sort of ride stats you want. After you've built enough of a given type of coaster, you get a feel for how tightly you can turn, dive, and climb the track for the speed the coaster will have by that point of the track. Then it's a lot easier to build coasters as you go. But until then, it's generally easier to make the coaster first and get it fine-tuned to the stats you want, then put up the buildings and topography around it.

It's easy to get the walls aligned with the ride's platform. There's a button on the coaster's info box to "build on grid". Clicking that puts you in building mode with the grid aligned to the station platform.

If you want any buildings elsewhere along the track, however, it's usually best to make them as separate building entities rather than trying to make everything part of the station building. The twists and turns of the track will not conform to the grid of the station building. So, you make separate buildings aligned to the local stretch of track.

I advise you to start by looking for a theme for your creation, once the theme is found, try to think about what you would like to set as background in your creation. Then you can start by creating the station of departure, once the station is finished you can create the route of your attraction by directing it according to the decor ideas that you have (if you want to create a cave in which your ride will pass Try to direct your journey accordingly). Once the course is complete you can start the decoration (additional building, decors, music ...)

After that is that my opinion there may be people who do otherwise

Yes I know that but when there is already an excisting building next to it its very hard to get them at the same level.

Good plan doing it bit by bit. There is the mistake I make.
