How to stop insurance whining...

In my opinion, nothing needs to change. You just need to either not take off or not whine at the risk you're taking. But I suppose a way to solve it would be to allow paying for your ship later after it's destruction. Now I bet you're thinking, "But that's too easy!?!?" And I agree, so the downside would be paying for half your ships cost PLUS interest. And I mean a lot of interest, so you have to really work your butt off to get your ship back after your ignorant and misguided mistake...

Or just get rid of insurance altogether and start out from Sidewinder again or whatever you can afford....But that would just spin off a whole new set of whiney threads from the entitled generation.....

If it were real life i'd agree.. But it's a video game, not too fun playing when you have to make sure you dont crash or you go back to a sidewinder.

There will always be whining about any game mechanic that is a penalty. Insurance is currently uber forgiving as long as you don't do something silly like fly without the paltry 4% cushion you need to rebuy.

How to stop insurance whinning ? Players must just use a little their brain... Rules are clear and logic, don't fly a ship you can't cover. Stop.

I would never leave a dock without the insurance payout. Plus the fact that it's pointless putting ALL of your money into the ship. What's the point in buying a bigger, better ship if you can't afford to fill it? I had heard though that you could get a loan to rebuy your ship?

The insurance system is fine the way it it's. It's the players that need to change the way they think about gaming, and not expect something for nothing.

Another way to remove the insurance ragequit threads is remove insurance period.

You lose the ship, it's gone. Want a replacement? Buy another one. How's that solution instead?

Sick of seeing all these fools ragequitting over Asps (yeah 80% of those threads is an Asp they flew off in without enough money and died and lost).

In DayZ SA we die we start "naked" from spawn point. It is one of the most sold Alpha projects. I guess many folks like the challenge AND the "fun for risk" rewards surmounts the "sense of loss".

Elite and DayZ are not the same but both games rely on a 1 time payment, there is nothing of "value" except vanity lost. "oh no all the time I lost into the game I chose the spend time one..."... lol

Both are games. Both have rules. Both are high success games. Do not dismiss the quality of a hardcore ironman mode.

TBH once proper MP ground get introduced I wouldn't mind a bit to get proper "perma death" solution to all "can't get enough sat...credits...".

... back on topic.

Paying ship upon destruction would revolve around a complete mechanic introduction for Pilot's Federation operations ( we still don't know exactly how it will work... ).

As it is now is a fairly simple system. You buy a full price, fully insured ship. You lose it you can have it back for 1/20th of the original price WITH ALL THE MODULES.

To me it is a gigantic HELP from the game. I don't have to spent another crazy amount of cash outfitting the ship.

While true and easy, it wont please the "Nopunishmentforyourownmisstakes" White Kinght Brigade.

best way to stop insurance whine threads i.m.o. is to not post in them and they will go away seeing threads about it every day now and if we ignore them then it's less whine threads for others to see and think it's ok to demand changes to an already generous system.

and yes i have lost ships but i have a cash cushion i place to make the loss sustainable.
