Horizons How to target a ship that is scanning you

How is the best way to target a ship that is scanning your own ship? The 'Select Highest Threat' key does not seem to work in this situation? Also, how do I know the ship that is scanning me by the information on the radar? Is the icon of the ship any different than any other ship?

No indication is provided. In a situation with only a small number of ships, you may be able to see the ship that is pointing straight at you, visually. Otherwise, it's completely anonymous.

As soon as the ship sends a message, like "don't know how you make a profit," "sorry, thought you were someone else" etc. you have the name and can scan through using the G default key to next target until you find the NPC name that targeted you. But it's always after the event.

You may not be able to see the other ship. If you have a D/E rated scanner and the other ship has an A rated one he could be out of your range and still scan you. Or the other ship could be in silent running and in that case would probably show as an unresolved contact.

Your comms panel will tell you their name as they usually have something silly to say, after that I just look in the contacts tab and target them from there.

The ships symbol will become a triangle when they begin the scan, quite handy when monitoring police patrols around a large starport.

How about the general scans at a station, I do not see the name of the ship scanning my own ship? Do I need to worry about these scans?
