Engineers How to trade in space?

I saw an USS, named somthing with 'Trading'...
After dropped out of SC a Type-9 Transport from Technology Aquisitions Inc offered me to buy not needed Materials from me.
But how can I trade with this ship in space?
Dropping some from cargo did not work.

This could be new in 2.1 .... next time, take a look in your left hand screen when you have targeted the ship and see if you can contact the ship. A menu might open to trade.

This I tried already too. I looked at Contacts and marked the ship.
Tried Enter key, mouse click - but no way to open any additional menue with it..

It's not new, each of those ships only buys a cerain type of commodity. Can't recall right now what technology inc collects, but it works the same as "seeking weapons" (battle weapons). If you have what they need, the cargo is removed and you are given the money for them if you fly close enough.

Hmm... thats dumb. Regarding materials for the engineers, I could not choose what to sell.
And may be he would just buy the special, rare item I would never sell... :-(
