SIRIUS
Faction: Sirius Corp
Rep Systems: Avik, Procyon, Luyten's Star, Te Kaha, HIP 8396*, Takurua, Almagest, Robigo, and Sothis.
Benefits: Decent outfitting, is the location of an engineer.
Note: Recommended systems has a station controlled by Sirius Corp. However, the permit can only be obtained from Procyon, Luyten's Star and Avik.

I myself did it by accident. I did some Sothis/Ceos missions back and forth and got the rep long before even realizing it would be helpful down the road.

Sorry to say, but there is a bug with "level-up" missions. Whether it's permit unlocking, navy rank progression, or engineer access, some players have prohibitively long wait times. Hope you don't run into it!

I've been in Sothis and Ceos the past few days and am now allied with Sirius Corp. I haven't got the Sirius permit yet but when I first logged in to the beta today I got the Permit message right away- and I was still only Friendly in the beta instance. Bad sign, but at least it will be fixed when 2.3 goes live

I believe the beta triggered your permit by design. Beta users usually get access to all engineers, regardless of unlock requirements. You don't need to give Selene 10 units of painite, for example.
