How to update ED Launcher on Steam Deck

I remember that in order to install it in the first place I had to add the client installer as a non-steam game, then install it, but it also involved some directory location changes in the shortcut on steam...

Does anyone know a step by step process of updating ED on Steam Deck with the new launcher? So that it overwrites the old launcher. (Using original SteamOS).

Note we're talking non-Steam Elite here, purchased directly in FDEV store.
