I had TrackIR on after ED had started. Quite finnicky to work through track IR, it's quite jumpy.
I always use "precision mode". This makes it a lot less jumpy.
It should not be jumpy at all! I just use the default.
Make sure by looking at the graphics in the program that there are no interfering light sources and that your target is as centered as possible. You should see three green squares that move as your head moves and nothing else, especially red blobs. Then, make sure that the grid is calibrated, F12. After that, you should be A-OK. Just make sure you start TIR before you boot the program you want TIR in, i.e. ED.

Some people find it jumpy when trying to keep focus on specific systems. Precision mode eliminates this for me.
Actually I have run TrackIR after ED is fully running and I'm flying inside ED too. Works without a problem. As soon as I alt-tab back into ED, TrackIR takes over.
