The author is the guy behind, amongst much else, Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, which has led to use of the phrase "rationalist fiction" to describe fiction in which the characters behave intelligently, and plots do not hinge on errors or stupidity.
It's certainly something to consider, when devising plots for fiction.
