how do you make rank with the superpowers in 2.3 in a timely fasion

So I have finally decided to start the grind for the Federal Corvette and I wondering if there are any ways left in elite to gain rank in a timely fashion so that i do not have to spend the next month going from Lt. Commander to Post Admiral.

I believe the best way currently is Sothis Ceos...

my mate did his last few ranks in Sothis/Ceos.. just grinding data missions between them.
