How viable is it to have a ship launched fighter as your main and only ship?

It's not, you need a main ship to launch from at the very least.
Not such a dumb question after all cmdr, as the sidewinder was mooted as being able to be used as a ship kaunched fighter at one point. A lot of players are still hoping for it too.
