How we all feeling about being thrown under a bus?

I have always been the one to support FD's side of the argument when people started tearing them down for one reason or the other (usually Odyssey for the past year). I have been playing the Elite franchise for decades, always supporting Frontier.

As I don't like being thrown under a bus at all and being lied to about everything being o.k. when the bus leaves I am not happy at all.

I haven't been able to play ED on the PS4 since the news was dumped on console users, it has left an incredibly bad feeling about trusting any game studio at all. I am in no mind to revive my PC Cmdr (6000+ hrs) at the moment either.

For me it does now seem that FD is basically ruining ED by destroying any future potential player base, as well as those console players who have been truly stitched up by Frontier's behaviour.

As a PC VR cmdr lm curious.
I've never owned a console since the mega drive.
We have rigs. Namely a PC and a chair with a hotas and possibly pedals or 2 sticks or kbm etc etc.
Do console owners own all this too? And if so isn't just buying a PC a more expensive option but the same as buying a next gen console?
And again if so. Then yeah get one.
But... fdev must give the option of a port over for your accounts that's for sure or the deals off we lose 1000s of cmdrs.
Damn shame.
Wish it wernt so as it is. Let's hope they do something.

I have a hotas - just bought it recently which really rubs in the recent news...

I work in front of PC screens at a desk all day for work - I do not want to do the same for my gaming time in the evening. In fact I held off getting a hotas for ages as I wasn't sure it would work sitting on the sofa - I've managed to mount it on a piece of wood which goes on the coffee table when I'm playing Elite.

Not entirely sure why that matters though - buying expensive peripherals is not a requirement for loving a game.

I am never going to switch to PC gaming, let alone for a game like Elite. I will continue to play Horizons for as long as the servers will stay up, but will never buy Arx again, or another Frontier game.

I give it around 6 months to a year before they'll close down the servers. And the way the things are going with this specific game, I don't see it'll have a bright future for PC either.

The thing I am peeved about is that during this period of cost of living crisis they want us to buy a PC for at least £1,500 in order to play the game. The PS5 should be quite capable as games and demos like FC6 and The Matrix has shown.
