How well does the G5 DSS Engineer mod work?

Just wondering if I should spend time on engineering it. If it makes a significant difference in practice, I might go for it. Chucking the pokeballs at worlds isn't high on my exploration priorities list as it is now.

Thanks.

It definitely knocks a probe or two off for me to get 100%. If you're mapping at least one planet every dozen systems or so then it'll pay for itself time-wise pretty quickly.

Thanks. Most worlds are alright, but the ringed gas giants and the like tend to be a bit of a hassle.

Cheers. :)

Honestly it is a great boost to your time. I get at about a 40% reduction on average. Probes required/Probes used (for me) 2/1, 4/2, 6/3, 7/4, 21/14. So yeah, I highly recommend it, esp if you are working a long voyage. A lot will depend on working out your optimum shooting range, but easily figured out as you use them.

Go all the way to G5, makes a huge difference, especially for those big gas giants on rare occasion you want to map one. Most hi-Val bodies seem to be 6-7 probe targets, usually able to nail em w about 4-5 probes
