Simple question, but looking back, eventhough i own all Dlc i gotta admit i catch myself looking at some and still havent used stuff from them, so i wanna ask, how much bang did you all got for your back per each dlc?
Deluxe: Ive used the komodo monitor twice and the hippo, no interest whatsoever in the thompson gazelle though. 3 uses for 3 animals is pretty good though, so 3/10
Arctic: Confession Time, this Dlc was great cash money. Not only have i build for every animal atleast once and the reindeer even twice, the arctic wood set is great, with the arctic beams being easily among my most used pieces. The walls and roof are also great for some old sheds and stables and i especally like the flat wood carvings which are great to decorate those, with the double cross one being my favorite as my go to frame for climbing plants aka ivy as we got nothing else. Shame that it isnt flexicolor, but for what it is its awesome, 9/10
South America: Decent, i again used each Animal atleast once, with the lama and anteater both also been unsed a second time. Its also one of the few packs where i actually got use out of the exhibit, as the frog fixes the heart to see part by being colorfull and sticking to the glass, aswell as being easily able to decrease the exhibit size with pieces without running the risk of making it look weird as you cut animals in half. The bamboo pieces are also pretty nice and get used from time to time, but a lot less then before. Surprisingly i have used the capuchin only once, which mostly can be explained by my personal distaste for them in particular as kinda boring and their annoying noises, but not a bad pick, just one i will propaply use even less as we finally get more desired options. 7/10
Australia: The first underused pack, i used the skink, kangaroo and koala once each and the scenery is also mostly barely used besides the very pretty wall and utilitarian roof set. 4/10
Aquatic: Interesting case. I used seal, caiman and terrapin once each, BUT the faux rock might be my most used piece period especally when we take out plants of the equation. That being said while there are other good pieces in the scenery and especally the hydrillia plant is godly for natural looking underwater moats, it feels wrong to give the pack a super high rating when "all" ive been using from it was one rock set, so a 7/10 feels fair
SEA: I hate this pack with a passion, but i actually have used every single animal from it as it even was my first pack back in the day as i started the game shortly after it released with an asia section as my first. That being said i have only used the dhole and babirusa twice, but still i got my money worth id say ironically. 7/10
Africa pack: Another surprisingly low one. I have used the meerkats twice and i would easily rank them as one of the most usefull animals in the game and while i have used the penguin once i havent used the other 3. For the scenery this pack has a vast array of usefull pieces like the wood, rope and tiles, but its not a go to set for me, more a random grabback of smaller stuff, which isnt bad and id defenetly would not want to miss it but also nothing essential. 5/10
North America Pack: Lets see what have i used from this pack? I used the prariedog. Nice. And i used it again....yeah this one really wasnt cash money for me. I technically have started building for the arctic fox at some point and got plans for beavers and have considerd both the moose and alligator before but eh. Im giving it a 2/10 cause i love the prariedog and would use them again, but propaply atleast at this point among the worst buys for me.
This pack also marks the point where i started my newest zoos, so any animal of this did not get the opportunity to be used more then once.
Europe Pack: Now for the opposite, i have used the badger, lynx and fallow deer but whats really important here are the plants. I use outside of tropical houses allmost exclusivly asian and europe plants with the tundra, taiga, grassland, temperate and aquatic taggs and this pack was a game changer in that regard. By now im spoiled in choice for plants from my favorite tags and this was the biggest boost in them and i use them literally all regulary. The scenery is also very neat, especally the stone wall, but the plants are really what carrys this pack for me. 7/10
Wetlands: The most recent animal pack i got good use out of. I used every animal except the platypus and the exhibit and i would use every single one again. The biggest compliment i can give this pack is that it has the only animal past the North America pack that i used twice, as my zoo has two different capybara habitats and might even have that happen again as im currently feeling like moving the nile lechwe out of my big savannah habitat and building them a neat habitat on their own as an aquatic antelope is just that cool and has so many more interesting habitat possibilitys then the others. I even activly choose the spectacled caiman over both the cuviers dwarf and an albino alligator, not cause they are newer but because i genuinly like them the most of the three. Good pack, i would use all of these guys again, win for wetlands. 8/10
Conservation: When this came out i had no idear how essential it would become. I used both the siamang and the horse, but thats not important here. This building set is godly. Literally the best. Theres no other building set i specifically look up regulary besides this one as i use parts from it in literally every single build these days. Wood? God tier. Props? God tier. Veggies? God tier. Flowers? some of my favorite pieces in the game. Other plants? Also pretty good. Id give this a pack a 10/10 for the scenery alone but as i only have used 2 of the animals with no plans for the rest or desire to reuse those that i allready have, ill drop it down to a 9/10
Twillight: When was the last time i used all habitat animals of a pack? The freacking SEA pack. Does this pack have flaws? Yes but for how much i used it its great. Its also the third most significant spike for my plant selection and got some very neat stone walls and metall pieces, aswell as nice wood. Not one of my go to sets but more then usefull enough. 7/10
Grasslands: This pack is great, imo one of the first packs any newbie should get but for my personal use? Ehhhh. To its credit, i absolutly love the wallaby and emu, i rushed in to build for them and i would do it again and i also build for both the armadillo and the butterflys, but id be lying if i said i had much interest in the other 4 animals. Not cause they are bad, i even thought about building for each of them, but they all just do not stand out to me as more interesting then other animals. If i want to build for antelopes, i build for others then the wilderbeast, same for cats, hyeanas and canids. None of these are bad, its simply the consequence of roster bloat for these categorys of animals where im just by now not really feeling them as i allready have build multiple cat, canid and antelope habitats and would rather do something different i havent done before. Ironically, after grasslands was when i really started using all the wetlands animals as they really scratched that itch of something different. 4/10
Tropical: Great pack, great scenery, awesome foliage, defenetly not my type of animals. I actually build a red river hog habitat shortly before and filled it with warthogs and never swapped them out of spite. Technically i got the lar gibbons but mostly i just put in multiple colormorphs with the siamangs and never botherd to remove them. Didnt help that it came out shortly after my tropical house roster was decided on with no more room left, with especally the fossa suffering from that as i got lemures but no space for the fossa near them. I also have rather build a faux habitat for very sleepy two toed sloths instead of engaging with the terrible WE so i think that also says quite a bit about my feelings regarding the sloth. Scenery is kinda neat though. 2/10
Arid: 1/10. I have only used the dhamas gazelle so far despite playing alot since its out cause the whole pack is pretty much the opposite of inspiring to me. I liked the dhamas, never thought id get them so they got a honorary spot in my savannah habitat, but realisticly any antelope can fill that.
Oceania: I used the quokka as a stand in for the bettong, mild interest in a devil habitat which wont fit because of space reasons, no desire for the rest. Scenery is neat but not groundbreaking, eventhough i do love the thatch walls. 2/10
