How will exploits/bugs/dupes be dealt with after launch?

If the easy fix right now is to wipe the servers after discovering a game breaking bug, what will be the fix after launch? Do I expect to have to worry after the 16th of Dec. when I put a week of work into building up my character, that I could risk losing everything because someone found out a way to bypass missions or make extremely large sums of money from a simple overlooked feature? Or will you guys have methods of dealing with this on a more personal account level? I am honestly curious and I am sure many like me are as well.

The intent of the 3.9 gamma patch and wipe after 24 hours to my knowledge was to start the early backers headstart into the 16th. Now I understand that things do not always go as planned and if a wipe is the absolute and only option, other then clearing accounts associated with the current bugs/exploits then so be it. I just want to know if in the future when things go sour that a server wipe isn't going to be the solution. Thank your for the time to read.

I dont think there will be any wipes after the 16th. No matter what is discovered.

If people are exploiting bugs after the 16th then they will probably be treated as cheaters and dealt with individually.

FDev does have the ability to adjust accounts on a case by case basis should they feel its required, the bug where KS starter ships were not showing up proved that.

when it comes time to make major additions to the game we will probably be beta testing additions on a separate sever to avoid the possibility of this problem, i for one have no worries.

FD will respond like any software company.

To be effective this relies on the wider community, of course, but let's assume somebody not interested in using it as a cheat finds an exploit. The proper action is to document it, report it to FD and maybe warn the wider community that it exists without any details of how to reproduce it - those details would be given only to FD.

FD then verifies it internally and comes up with a patch. In the process they also likely discover how to detect its use. After that it depends on how severe it is - If they turn the DBAs loose on the server databases they can do anything they want - wipe individual accounts, rollback the entire galaxy state by whatever time they want, wipe and start over - the whole spectrum is available. When you've got folks who can "su -" or "CONNECT as SYSDBA" to the universe, there's pretty much NOTHING they can't do.
