How will our CMDR Customizations (outfits, remlock suit colors) work?

Armour parts like modules in ships.
Each armour part can be engineered.
Various cosmetics applied to each.

Or

Sets of Armour by different manufacturers.
Each with sub function engineering.
Various cosmetics applied to each.

Armour can be put on when you reach the ships airlock?

I haven't seen anything said about engineering anything other than ships, just "find expert support in highly coveted Engineers". Maybe that means something else, maybe it means Engineers (and all other Horizons features) will be available in the base game, or enable all the Horizon stuff. Think about it, you buy Odyssey, you can land on atmosphere planets, but you don't own Horizons so you can't land on airless worlds? What sense would that make. I'm ready for some details in 3 months.

A lot of other games just roll old expansions into new ones, to reduce the number of permutations the game has to deal with. So my guess is that either Horizons will become the new base game, or Horizons will become part of Odyssey. Since Mac support got dropped, I'm guessing the former.

Im just spit balling.
But if FPS combat is to be a thing, then one might assume some forum of Engineering mechanic for your Armour and weapons.
I kinda like that idea, although we have zero evidence that it will be.

I can't say I like engineering, or unlocking new engineers at least. That would be a minor gripe for me, but I can't argue with more progression.
