How would you feel about rides in PZ?

I'm opening up this discussion: How would you feel about a small number of gentle flat rides in Planet Zoo as part of a kiddie area? I get that some of you might say "I don't want PZ to be a second Planet Coaster," but hear me out.
Things like:
  • Carousel
  • Bumper Cars/Boats
  • Kid-Sized Train Ride
  • Pony Rides
  • Splash Pad
Let me know if this is a good idea and what other ideas you can come up with.

I would very much like a carousel, especially if there was some way to customize the animals. Carousels are very common in zoos, and provide a great revenue stream along with an extra bit of enjoyment for guests.

Splash pads would also be amazing though I think they fit into the greater need for playground equipment, and I don't know if child playgrounds would be best implemented as some kind of customizable flat ride, a restaurant-like rabbithole, placable path piece like the education stations, or something else entirely. We definitely need playgrounds though.

As for boats/train rides, I think that theu are well served by the current transport ride mechanic, but it would be a great update if we could 1. have the ability to set invisible tracks, and 2. have a few more ride skins, like swan or paddle boats.

Thanks for bringing up playgrounds! I didn't consider things like swings, slides, or climbing equipment.

Very much want a carousel, perfect entry plaza centerpiece and several zoos in real life have them. That's the only ride I'd be interested in seeing come to the game. Not super interested in animal rides, personally

Gonna have to agree. Kid-sized trains (adults can often ride but they're more geared for kids), carousels and as mentioned too playgrounds.

Not so sure on riding the animals, unless maybe farm animals that are more used to that sort of thing. Animal rides are definitely not a huge want for me though.

I do remember during the release or introduction of the South America pack and I believe Chante was the CM at the time there was a nice pic of planet zoo concept art that revealed the jaguar and showed multiple neat zoo items as well. One in fact showing a carousel I believe. It’s been sometime ago so my memory isn’t fresh. Anyway I don’t believe this necessarily means it will come to light someday but at least it looked like it received thought. I don’t really believe will receive any of this kind of stuff but I guess you never know. I wouldn’t mind a carousel since a lot of zoos have them.

I have neber been to a zoo that had carousels per se (only seen pony rides and those zoo tram rides - that is actually something that almost every zoo has here), but I would not be opposed to any of these though, they seems decent for a zoo, nothing over the top that would disturb the animals. Pony Rides and Splash Pads especially would be nice.

The only thing I would really like is traditional playground equipment (slides, swings, ...). I'm not really interested in a carrousel but I wouldn't mind it either since some zoos have them. Splash pads could be cool.

I would not like animal rides though. They were very popular in zoos before but almost all zoos stopped them (at least in Europe) because they were not great for the animals. So that's a no for me. I'm not a fan of petting zoos for the same reason by the way. More and more zoos are getting rid of them. I know it's a popular thing in the community but not for me. Actually, a petting zoo pack is probably the only pack Frontier could do that I wouldn't be excited for.

Carousel would be neat - very common in older zoos and fits the animal theme well. Splash pads and, especially, playgrounds are very common but I think they’d be more effort than worth it for frontier to implement (whereas carousels would be very simple). I’m less fussed for trains or bumper cars and actively don’t want pony or other animal rides - I’ve never seen anything like that in a zoo. The only ones I’ve heard of were stopped decades ago.

I can only see a pony ride fitting, and us getting it in a petting zoo pack... 👀

Honestly, there’s a lot of common “rides” that are found in zoological parks that aren’t in PZ. But we haven’t received any new ones since the game’s release (which kinda makes me doubt we’ll be receiving anymore but we can still hope).

I think any new forms of rideable/interactable guest entertainment would be awesome. I would especially like to see some guest-climbable playground equipment the most. Almost every zoo has a children’s play area of some kind— a slide, swings, and monkeybars would probably cover most of the basics.

At one point I think the idea was that since those would be off the path it wouldn't be something that could be done. Of course, then we got restaurant tables like that....so I'm more of the mind that anything might be possible.
