How would you rank the wetland animals?

Now that the new pack is out and you got your hands on the new wonderfull animals, how do you rank them on a scale of 1-10?
Would be interesting to know, especally as i still need to wait till i can play it for myself :)

Otter: 10/10. Adorable, well-animated, high effort. Feels very different from the giant otter.
Capybara: 6/10. Cute, well-made, fairly realistic. Just not my cup of tea.
Lechwe: 6/10. A very beautiful but very basic antelope.
Crane: 7/10. A wonderful model, but overall very similar to the flamingo, which is a bit disappointing.
Newt: 6/10. A good animal which is really way too small for the current system.

Asian small clawed Otter: 10/10 I have Seen them half a year ago for the first time and they are such cute animals in real life. And I think this was brought to the game, too.

Cabypara: 10/10 I have already used them and yes, they were just missing from the game until now

Platypus: 10/10 They were on my wishlist and I like it that they are now part of the game. Usual Zoo animal or not does not matter for me. In the end they are kept in some Australian zoos and San Diego. In my opinion the animals must not always be European or North American common Seen animals.

Nile Lechwe: 9/10 I like it and I do not make a secret that I would like to See some further antelopes. I could make a whole pack just with antelopes which are interesting for me and perhaps also for other people. The Nile Lechwe would surely not have been on this list. Especially for the reason I did not know this species. But the surprise picks in the DLCs were always convincing in my opinion. And it is really high quality and a beautiful antelope.

Wild water Buffalo: 8/10 The quality of this animal is amazing. It looks distinct enough to the cape buffalo in my opinion and now I am happy to See them in the game because I had some doubts about it.

Red Crowned Crane: 7/10 I must say it would surely have a higher ranking, around the Nile Lechwe ranking. It looks very good but it is disturbing for me that it uses the Flamingo sleeping move. I have not used it until now. Just have watched a video. Perhaps it was a bug but this puts this very good made animal a bit down for me.

Spectacled Caiman: 7/10: In my opinion the highest quality animal in the pack which is not surprising. Crocodilians were always made so good by Frontier. I still think we did not need a Further caiman but I must say it looks Quote different to that we already have and now I am okay with it in the end.

Exhibit: 8/10 Forgot the English Name 😀. In my opinion a good choice. I would have prefered the Axolotl but it is okay for me. Nothing bad but exhibits are for me just Background I must say

Otter, capybara, crane, platypus - all absolutely perfect, 10/10

Lechwe - Okay, so, I want more antelope but they’re honestly not that interesting in the moment to moment. But this one is a hugely needed breath of fresh air, and the model looks great. 8/10

Caiman - This model is absolutely stunning. It’s the best looking crocodilian, and honestly it just might be the best looking animal period. It’s also nice to have a more intermediate sized crocodilian between the dwarf caiman and the bigger three. As much as I still want to begrudge crocodilian #5 on principle, it’s really hard to after seeing it in action. idk 5/10?

Water buffalo - This one never really wowed me and now, in practice, it’s doubly unimpressive. I’m now realizing that this was the truly disposable animal in this pack, not the caiman. I’m just not really a cow fan, and its visual similarity to the African buffalo doesn’t do it any favors either. This should’ve been the red river hog. 3/10.

Yeah, this was basically my opinion too-- though I can't say I care for the caiman much more.

I haven't bought the pack yet, but I have to say that every new crocodilian that is released reaches a new bar of quality. I don't care for the spectacled caiman, but my lord is this a beautiful animal model! Wow.

Another stunning model is the water buffalo. I love this animal, and I'm so glad it doesn't look like some sort of fat cow. This model shows the last two ribs, the hipbones, it has a defined waist, I absolutely love it. Such a wonderful job.

The lechwe also looks amazing, maybe not as fluffy as some examples I've seen, but it still looks strikingly different from all the other antelopes we've gotten so far.

The capybara looks good, but doesn't stand out to me as spectacular. Regardless, I love capybaras and I'm happy they're finally in!

The platypus looks good, but I have no reference because I've never seen it in real life and I'm sure photos don't do it justice.

The crane is meh for me. It just doesn't do anything for me, especially not if you've got a lot of them in a habitat. It's just really weird to see dozens of identical birds of identical height and identical pattern.

The small clawed otter is very very cute! Everything I wanted from it :)

I played only shortly yesterday so far, but of course, the animals were the first thing I checked:

Capybara - Amazingly animated, has alot of cuteness to it, it is a well deserved spot to be the star of the pack. The amazing shower enrichment for them is just top notch. They got deep diving, I was not sure they will get it, as many zoos has just some shallow pools for them, but it is a plus.

Platypus - My gosh it is so funny how they waddle on ground, model and animations are amazing. And it is another Oceania animal. My only "complain" about it is the habitat space requirments, they are way to big. I understand that the game needs bigger space to work properly, but if there was a possibility to reduce it, even if by bits I would be happy.

Red-Crowned Crane - I am just so happy for another bird, and even if I like Grey-Crowned Crane better, this crane is also very beautiful animal. I also noticed they moved like a flock alot, if one started to move, other followed. Not sure if there was something changed regarding herding, but other people also confirmed the new animals move alot more like a herd/flock/pack. My only concern regarding the crane is that when used the forage pool enrichment, it had it regular red texture for shrimps. Also, like with the flamingo, only one kind of food enrichment is not enough imo.If you have bigger flock, you will have to use lot of forage pools and they are too big.

Asian Small-Clawed Otter
- Got to admit, I was not interested in another otter, but they are SO cute. They also have different moving animation from the Giant Otter, so they do feel very different. Def an animal that surprised me, I think I might use those alot. Only negative I have regarding this is that the only time they do their standing animation is when playing with bubbles.

Wild Water Buffalo - Beautiful model and texture, it really shows how much Frontier improved with their animals, especialy if compared to the African Buffalo. Would not be my first pick for the pack, but it is nice to have another Asian Ungulate. My negative is that this particular one is the WIld Water Buffalo, which are not found in zoos as far as I know instead of the Domestic form. Though they do looks alike, so I can easily pretend they are the domesticated form.

Nile Lechwe
- Very nice and unique looking antelope. The model and textures are just amazingly done. Havent seen any special animations from them, but I havent played with them that long, so we will see.

Spectacled Caiman
- Now about this controversial pick. I would have picked a different animal, but I am trying to see the positives here, so.., It really looks spectacular (pun intended), quite different in coloration. And really adds this medium sized crocodillian niche.

Danube Crested Newt - Beautiful and unique looking, not really much to say here as it is an exhibit animal. But it does have some looped animations so its nice.

Yeah, this was basically my opinion too-- though I can't say I care for the caiman much more.
Overall, I think this pack is great for diversity, adding more options for the cow, antelope, crocodilian, etc. niches, but for my purposes, I don’t care for most of the species featured.

Otter: 10/10. Adorable, well-animated, high effort. Feels very different from the giant otter.

The even bigger heresy is rating the capybara anything less than 14/10.

I've not had a chance to play yet (work has been crazy and I was too tired to enjoy it yesterday) so that's all I know so far.

it was from the Leaf video? because i thought the same, but it is not the same animation from the Flamingo it´s different

Spectacled Caiman: As always, Frontier has done an excellent job texturing scales. This is a beautiful animal, and as a reptile lover, I have fewer complaints with this inclusion than most. 7/10
Wild Water Buffalo: I genuinely wasn't expecting to like this animal as much as I do. It has one of the best fur textures this game has seen in recent memory, and another bovid is always welcome. 8.5/10
Platypus: Phineas and Ferb references aside, this is a great pick. It looks just as goofy as the real thing, and it's way past time we got another Australian animal. 8/10
Asian Small-Clawed Otter: Otterly adorable. Just as funny and playful as I was hoping. 9/10
Capybara: I mean come on, how can you not love it? Great sounds, great animations, and absolutely no complaints. 10/10
Red-Crowned Crane: We've been needing more habitat birds for a long time, and this guy does not disappoint at all. It's gorgeous, graceful, and with this inclusion, the odds of my beloved Secretary Bird being added only grow. 9/10
Nile Lechwe: They've dethroned the Bongo as my favorite antelope in the game. They're beautiful, especially the males, and although this is undoubtedly the most obscure animal in this pack, seeing it in game, I don't criticize Frontier at all for including it. 8/10
Danube Crested Newt: Another exhibit amphibian, and yet another exhibit animal that is way too small for the current exhibit size. Not a bad animal, but until they revamp the exhibit system it'll be hard for me to be thrilled with any of them. 6/10

All in all, a really good pack. Probably my second-favorite after the North America Animal Pack, and I don't have any major complaints about any of these animals.

Danube Crested Newt: Exhibit Animal - I give these all a generic 5/10
Spectacled Caiman: the caiman model looks great. Frontier did a great job with it. However, I feel this is just a slight upgrade to the Dwarf Caiman already in game, which I don't use...so while it looks great and I am currently trying it in game, I probably won't use it much. 6/10
Wild Water Buffalo: My favorite looking model of the entire pack. It looks amazing. 8/10
Asian Small-Clawed Otter: Adorable and will be my favorite in-game otter. 8/10
Nile Lechwe: A sneaky high grade because this is terrific, and we can never have enough ungulates in game. 8/10
Platypus: I was never on the hype train for the platypus, but once I saw them in the first promo video, I was hooked. I'm shocked how much I like them. 9/10
Red-Crowned Crane: I'm not a huge bird fan, but these guys just look incredible. Even if we never get an actual Aviary DLC, I'm hoping we get a bunch more of these type of birds added. 10/10
Capybara: Amazing job on the model. Combined with the "terrace" tool being added makes this a must-have animal. 10/10

Overall I give this pack a 9/10, ranking it just barely behind the North American Animal Pack as my favorite DLC so far.
