HP Reverb G2 no VR

Every other VR game I have (all Steam games) works just fine, but not Elite Dangerous. I'm using a standalone install purchased directly from Frontier, not purchased through Steam.

It's been a few weeks since I played Elite Dangerous in VR using the subject headset. I'm running Windows 10, so no Windows 11 issues.

Since I last played I know there have been Windows Updates, nVidia driver updates, and SteamVR updates. Who knows which one is the problem...

When I start Elite with the headset the Mixed Reality Portal (WMR) starts, followed by the SteamVR "grid" lobby, but then Elite starts up on the computer screen and not the headset. If I launch Elite without the headset plugged in, then the little SteamVR window complains that the headset isn't plugged in.

So it seems that Elite is starting the VR support but then deciding not to use it.

Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem as me? And if you worked out how to fix it?

Is “HMD headphones” still selected in Elite’s 3D options?
