HTC Vive and screen resolution seems bad

Hi,
Could someone please help me with my setup.
I have had the vive about a month now, and found no problems with any other games.
But today I have bought myself a Hotas X and come back to play elite that I haven't play for a while, but this time in VR
But since trying the training missions again to get use to VR and the hotas, I am finding the graphics to be very poor.
I have gone into settings, and set them to ultra, and set the resolution to max, but this doesn't seem to change the graphics inside VR.
Trying to read stuff in VR is extremely hard.

Please help !

You can't really change resolution in vr.
It is fixed.
The resolution setting when in vr only changes the desktop window mirror.
ED is taking a few things to it's extremes and panels in some ships can be rather odd and decreasing readability.
I suggest checking the vive sticky.

What can help is increasing the supersampling setting in steamvr or hmd-q. I recommend picking only one to change or things might snowball.

Upping supersamling and HMD quality are the settings that make the image clearer, its heavy tho so you need quite hefty hardware for it.
