All,
I've been using my DK2 up to now and it is all smooth and with SS set to 2.0, the detail isn't bad either (everything is set to Ultra/high where possible).
I was expecting the Vive to be better but here is what I've found....
1. The image quality is terrible. It is like watching it under water (especially near lights) and the frame lag is unplayable. I've tried everything from reseting the Nvidia settings to defaults, setting the ED GFX options to low. Makes no difference.
2. It always opens in Windowed mode and is locked to 60Hz (isn't it supposed to be 90?)
I've come to the conclusion I must be doing something wrong. How are you supposed to launch ED properly (I just use the ED launcher as normal - tried launching it within SteamVR Desktop mode but it made no differnce) and configure ED for the Vive properly?
Have we all bought a £600 lemon?
P.S. Yes I'm using the latest Nvidia drivers (364.72 to date) and I think the Vive is setup correctly as the Vive apps and other VR apps on Steam seems to be perfectly fine.
